Nahum 1:7 (NIV®)
The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.…
Life can be hard, can’t it? If you’ve lived very long, you know that life hands us unwelcome surprises far too often. It is easy to lose hope when we lose sight of the One who brings us hope. Contrary to what the world says, real hope is not dependent on a test result, a bank balance, or the weather. Real hope in your life is anchored in a person—Jesus of Nazareth. Without Jesus Christ as the source of your hope, circumstances will easily overwhelm you, and despair will flood you. It is easy to look around and find reasons to feel hopeless, but our God is not intimidated or frightened. He is a good and loving God, and He wants us to trust Him with our todays and our tomorrows. He wants to be our refuge against the cares of the world. He is watching over the paths of nations, but He is also watching over You.
THINK ABOUT IT
If you struggle to maintain hope in seasons of challenge, double-check what your hope is anchored to.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your watchful care and for providing a safe refuge through Jesus’ sacrificial redemption. The resurrected Jesus is my anchor and hope, my strong salvation, and all I need for righteousness and life. In His name, amen.
