It’s All His
Romans 7:6 (NIV®)
We have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.
Paul often reminded his first-century readers that their faith journey did not consist of fulfilling the obligations of a religious calendar. All these centuries later, we need that reminder, too. We often imagine that our relationship with the Lord consists of tasks that can be scheduled and marked off a list. You may be like me—a planner who likes structure and predictability. But we mustn’t let that limit the way we respond to the Holy Spirit’s invitations. How much time should we invest in serving the Lord? We should offer our every minute to Him! There should be no separation in our thinking between the time that is His and the time that is ours. Our time at home is His. Our time at school is His. Our time at work is His. Our time spent in hobbies and recreation is His. We have just one life to offer Him, so let’s be open to the leading of His Spirit and gladly give Him our every moment.
THINK ABOUT IT
Do you consider 100% of your time to belong to the Lord, no matter where you are or what you are doing? If not, gratefully offer back to the Lord all the time He has given to you, taking on the attitude of a good steward.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I pray that You would help me to steward the time You have given me for Your purposes. Thank You for every moment I have to glorify You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
