Come and See

Having watched S1E8 for the umpteenth time I noticed something I hadn’t seen before.

Nicodemus is speaking to his wife about a sign his mother had over the door “Adonai el roi, the Lord who sees me” from the account of Hagar in Genesis 16:13.  Later on we see Jesus talking to Eden and telling her He understands her sacrifice and that He sees her.

I think sometimes we forget we have a God who sees us. Especially as women we can feel invisible as we care for those around us. 

This made me think that whether we are crying out because of bullying or abuse (like Hagar), a wife whose husband is called to ministry, or looking after elderly parents (Eden), or a woman desperately looking for love but seeking in the wrong place (woman at the well). As well as everything in between Jesus says to us “look up, I have redeemed you I have called you by name you are mine. I see you”.

Great thoughts…..this seems to be a major theme within the message of The Chosen from our Lord, Jesus….” I saw you”….” I see you”….”Come and See”….”for you are Mine” and I have redeemed you”…!! ✡️✝️
