At the Feet of Jesus
Psalm 34:8 (NASB®)
Taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
I hope we never forget how good the Lord is to us. Every one of us faces challenges, and some of us are walking through very difficult times. But, no matter what we are going through, we are blessed! I have found the best remedy when I am feeling anxious or afraid is to stop and list the things the Lord has done for me. I’m old-school. So, I get a notepad and start writing them down. There’s something about putting pen to paper and seeing those things written on a page that reinforces them in my mind and heart. When I stop and take stock of all the ways He has blessed me—my relationship with Him, my loving family, the godly people He has surrounded me with, and all the other good things He has poured over me—it puts my circumstances in a different light. I can see the ways He has cared for me in the past, and it gives me peace to put my anxiety and fear in their proper place: at the feet of Jesus.
THINK ABOUT IT
If you will determine to continually praise God for His blessings, your seeming lack will become a shadow in the light of His provision.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for my lengthy list of practical and spiritual blessings. Help me lead my life focusing on Your provision and blessings more than on what causes anxiety. It is powerless because You are my Refuge and my Source. In Jesus’ name, amen.
