Help in Every Nook & Cranny

John 14:16 (NASB®)
“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, so that He may be with you forever.”

Jesus knew His time on Earth was drawing to a close. When He told His disciples He was leaving and they would not be able to follow Him right away, they were upset. He comforted them by telling them they would be receiving another Helper after He left, One who would never leave them. The men Jesus had recruited were religious. They read the Scriptures, went to the synagogue, and offered sacrifices. He had already opened their eyes to possibilities they could not have imagined apart from Him. But He knew they would need the ongoing presence and power of the Holy Spirit. The Bible says our Helper is always present to guide us through our days. He helps us understand the invitations and opportunities God places before us. So, our objective for Spirit-filled living should not be to limit Him and lock Him down. It should be to invite Him into every nook and cranny of our lives and give Him every opportunity to help us.

THINK ABOUT IT
Begin each day by saying to God’s Holy Spirit, “You are welcome today in every aspect of my life to help me to honor Jesus.”

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Holy Spirit, my Helper—may Your power reach into my circumstances, creating doors of opportunity and bringing Your peace. Holy Spirit, grant me wisdom, courage, and strength for the challenges before me. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
