Run to Jesus
1 John 3:1 (NLT®)
See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!
We’ve all known the sting of rejection. Perhaps it was related to a
sports team, an academic honor, a job opportunity that had seemed
perfect, or even a relationship that had seemed like “the one.”
Rejection is a part of everyone’s life, but it seems to have reached
epidemic proportions in this generation when social media is filled with
boasting that makes us doubt our self-worth. If you feel like you are
standing on the outside and you don’t know how to get on the inside—that
everyone else has a key to the door but you—you know exactly what I
mean. No matter what has touched your life and made you feel separate,
or unwelcome, or not good enough, Jesus will open His arms and welcome
you into the family of God. I urge you not to withdraw onto an island of
isolation, but to run to Jesus and feel the warm welcome of His
embrace.
THINK ABOUT IT
Rejection can be a debilitating thing, but the good news of God and His Kingdom is He welcomes all who will come.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You that Jesus took the penalty for my sin and
bore my rejection so I could be restored to You as Your child. Father, I
am not unwanted, and I am not excluded from Your family. I am grateful
You are my home. In Jesus’ name, amen.
