Path to Peace

Path to Peace

Colossians 3:15 (NIV®)
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

It's easy to get caught up in the challenging things around us, things that make us angry, or frustrated, or things that fill us with fear or anxiety. Two of the most powerful tools in our spiritual tool kit are being intentional about letting the peace of Christ fill our hearts and then, expressing our thanks to Him for that and all the other ways He has blessed us. In fact, they go hand in hand. It's difficult to be frightened, or anxious, or bitter while we are focused on feeling thankful. If you’re finding thankfulness hard to come by, I encourage you to find one thing you can be thankful for and not turn loose of it. If you can’t think of anything else, your salvation is a great place to start. Remind yourself of that one thing again and again until it grows into a whole list of things. Eventually, you’ll be rewarded for your persistence, and “the peace of Christ” will be in firm control of your heart.

THINK ABOUT IT
Thankful people are happy people. A spirit of gratitude coupled with acts of kindness will help you overcome many obstacles.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your grace and mercy in my life, and forgive me for times of ingratitude. You provide and care for me greatly. Today, I choose to rejoice and remember Your goodness. May Your peace fill my heart and direct my thoughts. In Jesus’ name, amen.
