Help & Revelation
1 Corinthians 2:9-10 (NIV®)
“What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”—the things God has prepared for those who love him—these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.
I think many of us are far more comfortable with the spirit of the world than we are with the Spirit of God. We know what it feels like to live in the spirit of the world, and we like the way it feels. It’s very easy to step into the world and be swept along in the tide. But we get a little anxious when the Spirit of God begins to move among us because there are some expectations involved. He wants to help us grow in our conviction of the uniqueness of Jesus and His redemptive work. He wants to help us yield more fully to the authority of His Word. He wants to be intimately involved in guiding the direction of our lives. When we yield to God’s Spirit, He will show us things we never would have seen on our own—good things that have been in God’s plan for us from the beginning.
THINK ABOUT IT
Begin to start each day by saying, “Holy Spirit, You are welcome in my life today. Thank You for Your help!”
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your plans for my life. Holy Spirit, I want to cooperate with You, follow Your directions, recognize Your prompts, and say yes to You. Reveal all the Father desires for me so Jesus might be glorified in all I am. In His name, amen.
