His Plans Are Far Better

Isaiah 55:8 (NIV®)
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD.

It’s easy to get caught up in “shoulda, coulda, woulda.” It’s easy to look around and compare ourselves to our peers. It’s easy to say to ourselves, “I thought I would have achieved a particular career milestone by this time in my life.” Or “I thought I would be happily married with children by now.” Or “I never thought I’d be facing this health challenge at this time of my life.” I encourage you not to allow the calendar, your struggles, or someone else’s timeline to rob you of your faith. Offer all of it to the Lord—your hopes, your dreams, your aspirations, your challenges. When God says His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways, we can rightly assume it is because they are so much better than ours. He sees the whole picture at once, while I am very limited in my perspective. He knows me better than I know myself. Experience has proven whatever plans He has for me are far better than anything I could have devised myself.

Unresolved regret and disappointment can limit our faith and hinder the opportunities God extends to us.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, reveal anything that is diminishing the fullest expression of faith in my life. I release to You all I have been, all I am, and all I have wanted to be. May Your good plans replace all I am releasing to You. Thank You for leading me forward from here. In Jesus’ name, amen.
