Grumbly or Grateful

Psalm 92:1-2 (NASB®)
It is good to give thanks to the Lord and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; to declare Your lovingkindness in the morning and Your faithfulness by night.

If I am not careful, I can just go through the routine of another day without stopping to fully recognize the provision, the people, and the opportunities that God has poured so generously into my life. Will you join me in intentionally cultivating an attitude of thankfulness? From morning to night, let’s thank the Lord with greater enthusiasm than we grumble. Let’s look for God in our circumstances and ask what we can learn about Him in the midst of them, even if we don’t always understand His plan. Let’s thank Him for our very lives. Let’s thank Him for the opportunities He has given us. Let’s thank Him for the forgiveness He shows when we do less than our best for Him, and for the second and third chances He gives us. When we are tempted to grumble, let’s look around and find reasons to be grateful instead.

THINK ABOUT IT
Is your attitude toward God more grumbly or grateful? Think about all the things you have to be grateful for, and give Him the thanksgiving and praise He is due.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I have been ungrateful when all was well and grumbled and fretted in adversity. Forgive me, Lord. I choose today to thank You for protecting and guiding me. May I not take Your grace for granted. I will praise You day and night, for You are worthy. In Jesus’ name, amen.
