Turn To Jesus

As she made her way into her room she felt like she almost couldn’t make it. Her steps were tired and weary.
Her heart was aching within her, but she knew what she had to do.
She closed her door and fell to her knees.

She carefully picked up the Word of God and scanned through the verses.
She read through the book of Psalms and heard the heart cries of David.
She read through the scared scriptures that spoke into the darkness of her heart.

She sat there quietly thinking about
the Almighty God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. She let His promises wash over her and cleanse her from despair.

As she read, different verses were illuminated under the power of the Holy Spirit. They became fresh rhema into her spirit. They whispered directly into her heart.

She knew what His Word said.
He was here with her even if she couldn’t feel Him. He was there in that room with her and was watching over her every move.

She let her tears fall and didn’t try to stop them. Sometimes the name of Jesus was all that she could pray. His name would rise within her and leave her lips with sobbing.

Sometimes her prayers would turn with urgency and tongues of fire would come forth, and she knew she was laying a heavy burden down at His throne. She didn’t know what she was praying in those moments but He did.

He knew how to reach down and help her. She didn’t understand the magnitude of what was happening as she went into her secret place each day, but God did.

She didn’t even understand that every single time she opened her bible and prayed, she was being transformed.

So many days she didn’t feel God moving. She wondered where He was in her pain. She couldn’t make sense of what was going on around her. But God knew exactly what was happening within her.

He was sitting next to her as she cried.
He was renewing her mind with truth as she mediated on the scriptures.
His presence was surrounding her and healing the parts of her heart that were broken even when she didn't feel Him.

As she came undone in His presence she was being made whole under His touch.

Day after day,
month after month,
year after year,
she kept meeting with Him.

She knew that He was her only hope.
She knew that with Him was where she would be found and made alive.
And so in faith, she kept falling to her knees in that room. She kept letting the tears fall. She kept bringing Him every broken piece of her heart, until one day she realized the pain was gone.

It seemed as though it had happened overnight. The deep void that used to threaten to swallow her whole was now filled.

And as her eyes filled with tears, God reminded her of the years she had spent in secret with Him.

He reminded her of all the times she had felt alone, and He gave her understanding to now see that she was never truly alone.

He had been in that room with her.
He had been wiping her tears away.
He had been working all along.

Her heart was now whole. She had been transformed and set free. And it was all because she had spent time regularly in the presence of God.
It was because she opened her hands and surrendered every broken piece.

Now she runs to her secret place with praise overflowing within her. She falls to the ground where she used to weep with sorrow and now she weeps with thanksgiving. She falls on her face in awe of who her God is.

His Word had became alive in her life.
He had bound up her brokenheart with His love.

And now as she sits in His presence once more she vows to sing of His praises until her last breath. Yes, until her last breath she will share about the saving grace of her beautiful Savior.
Jesus.
