Worship The Lord

Worship The Lord

Psalm 117:1-2 (NASB®)
Praise the Lord, all nations; Laud Him, all peoples! For His lovingkindness is great toward us, and the truth of the Lord is everlasting. Praise the Lord!

The so-called worship wars have been going on for a while now, but we’ll settle them right here. Which is the right way to worship: Contemporary worship? Yes! Traditional worship? Yes! Liturgical worship? Yes! If the folks leading worship are wearing jeans and T-shirts, worship the Lord. If they are wearing robes, worship the Lord. If they have a kazoo band, worship the Lord. If they have a pipe organ, worship the Lord. If you’re singing words on a screen, worship the Lord. If you’re holding a hymn book, worship the Lord. If the song was written in 1918, worship the Lord. If it was written in 2018, worship the Lord. These things all pale in comparison to the glory of our God. Don’t allow yourself to be distracted from the privilege of approaching Him and thanking Him for all He is and all He has done. Ask the Holy Spirit to keep your heart focused on the object of worship—our Almighty God—rather than the style of worship.

THINK ABOUT IT
Do you ever allow worship styles to distract you from worshipping the Lord?

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I will praise You in every circumstance, good or bad, because You are worthy. You chose and changed me to be useful, giving me purpose for Your specific purpose. May I maintain my focus on You alone in every act of worship. In Jesus’ name, amen.
