He Rescues Every Time

Psalm 34:18-19 (NLT®)

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time. 

One of the things I love about Scripture is its integrity. It’s honest about the nature of the journey we’re on. It tells us openly that trouble is not reserved for the immoral and ungodly; righteous people—people who love Jesus—will experience it, too. But it also tells us the Lord will rescue us every time. I’m ready for us to move beyond putting on a polite religious front. I’m ready for us to say, “God, we believe what You say. We’re going to trust You for this to happen in our lives.” If you are brokenhearted today, it may be because of something you have done or circumstances beyond your control. Whatever the reason, Almighty God is near to you and watching over you to heal your broken heart. 

THINK ABOUT IT

Don’t allow yourself to stay in a place of despair and discouragement. Give your brokenness to the Lord. Allow Him to rescue you and bind up your wounds. 

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You that, in many troubles, You are close at hand to deliver me—You bind up my wounds and restore my broken heart. I am grateful You have called me to share Your good news and invite others towards freedom. In Jesus’ name, amen.
