Privately & Publicly
1 John 4:15 (NIV®)
If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God.
Are you willing to acknowledge the Lord and be known by those around you as one of God's people? If not, it begins with your declaration that Jesus of Nazareth is the Son of God. Then, comes a willingness to make it personal and say, “Jesus of Nazareth is Lord of my life, and He can establish my priorities.” This is about more than joining a church, being religious, or following rules. This is about affirming Jesus’ place in your life on a daily basis and saying, “Jesus, I want to honor You in everything I do today.” When you take those steps, the promises of God will begin to unfold in your life. Now, your life will not become stress-free. Your tires will still go flat, and your garden will still have weeds. But you’ll be amazed at the blessings that will come when you acknowledge the Lord privately and publicly.
THINK ABOUT IT
Using your voice to advocate for the Lordship of Jesus not only encourages those around you toward Him, but also helps you grow in confidence about doing so.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, forgive me for when I have been silent about Jesus and the cross. I want to honor Him as my Redeemer, yield to Him as Lord, and serve Him as King. Grant me greater boldness with discernment to be an unrelenting advocate for Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, amen.
