God Is Involved

Isaiah 46:10 (NIV®)

“I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’”

There are people who believe God created the world and then stepped back, removed His hands, and started waiting for the clock of our existence to wind down. I don’t believe that. Scripture tells us God is just as involved as He was on the day He said, “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3). Jesus taught us to pray for God’s Kingdom to come, and His will to be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. That says to me God is very interested in what takes place on the earth and will intervene in order to accomplish His purposes. In the Old Testament, we see Him punish the pagan Egyptians and show mercy toward the repentant Ninevites. In the New Testament, we see Him punish dishonest Ananias and Sapphira and show mercy toward Cornelius, the Roman centurion. Yes, God is interested—in my life and your life. Yes, God is involved. His timing and methods may not be what we want or expect. But God is interested and involved in our world, and His purposes will prevail.

THINK ABOUT IT

May the truth of God’s Word be more real to us than any other opinion the world might present. We need to depend on the fact that God is interested and involved in our lives.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I rejoice You know me fully, and You are aware of and interested in my life. Thank You for all You have done. Grant me strength to fulfill Your plans so Jesus might be exalted, Your truth extended, and Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. In Jesus’ name, amen.
