Step Closer to Jesus
Matthew 6:33 (NLT®)
“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
Jesus often cautioned people about the uselessness of worry. He also advised them to depend on their Heavenly Father to meet all their needs. He demonstrated this repeatedly. “You need food for a multitude? Start with the sack lunch from the kid in the back.” “A storm is brewing, and you think you’re going to drown? I’ll tell the wind and the waves to be quiet.” Jesus was never worried or in a panic mode. So, if you are feeling afraid or threatened, step closer to Him. If you are feeling intimidated, spend more time meditating on what He has said about you than what is being said to you. If you are feeling angry or sad about the wickedness and darkness around you, begin to rejoice that you walk in God’s Kingdom of light.
THINK ABOUT IT
No weapon that has been formed against you will prosper in the end, so begin to depend on the Lord. Seek Him first. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you live righteously and look to Him to renew your strength.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, forgive me for all the times I have worried over challenges instead of turning to You for Your resolution and provision. My desire is to seek first Your Kingdom and righteousness. You are my Source, my Hope, and my Redeemer. In Jesus’ name, amen.
