"This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God...."
Every
spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is
from God. Every spirit that does not is not from God, but is the spirit
of the anti-christ.
He
is from the beginning as the Word. As the Word, fully divine, He
became flesh and made His dwelling place among us. And we have seen His
glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from His Father, full of
grace and truth. Therefore, may we, those saved by grace and purified
by truth, proclaim the Word with great boldness.
In
very nature God, He made Himself nothing-- taking on the very nature of
a servant, being made in human likeness, found in appearance as a man;
He humbled Himself and became obedient to death, even death on a cross.
Therefore, may we, at His name, the name of Jesus, bow before Him and
confess Him, Jesus Christ, as our Savior and Lord, to the glory of God
the Father.
He has been
made like us in every way, so that He could become our merciful and
faithful High Priest in service to God, making atonement for our sins.
Therefore, may we pray and trust in Him, that He is able, more than
sufficient, to deliver us from all of our temptations.
The mystery from
which true godliness springs is great: He appeared in the flesh, was
vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by the angels, was preached among the
nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.
He
is the Son, the radiance of God's glory, the exact representation of
His being, The Great I Am, sustaining all things by His powerful Word.
And
now may the God of Peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant
brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus Christ, our Good Shepherd,
equip us with everything good for doing His will, and may He work in us
what is pleasing to Him, through Christ, to whom be glory, majesty,
power and authority throughout all ages, now and forevermore. Amen.
